I Think I am Good for Training

Posted on July 1, 2019July 1, 2019 by John

My back was still spasming this morning, but after a hot shower and some stretching, it behaved for the day.  Still, I was worried what would happen in class tonight during an intensive workout so I opted to reschedule for Tuesday.

Instead, since I needed to gain confidence for training, after dinner I did a 10 minute HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) sequence followed by 15 minutes intensive shadowboxing with my Century Bob, finally finishing with the back exercises I mentioned earlier. As expected, my back behaved.  So I can take class tomorrow in confidence.  I just have to skip any assisted stretching after my Friday private training sessions and stick to my back regiment. Last year I stopped as soon as the pain stopped, but I am thinking this needs longer to heal so I’ll make it part of my daily routine.  It’s only 5 minutes or so.

I was looking at the HIIT sequence as something to do on days I do not have class just to keep momentum. It’s a rough 10 minutes so will do me well.
