Slow burn

Posted on November 14, 2021January 8, 2022 by John

One thing I have noticed after a week on full keto, is a difference in energy availability.  This weekend I did a lot of hiking with a lot of climbing up steep hills, and my legs would start to feel tired, but then I would feel like I had enough energy but it was just a slow burning sort.  Even and steady but at maybe 80%. I also noticed I don’t feel tired after lunch like I used to, nor have I felt the need to snack except as a habit.

I also have no problem keeping to my bed time since by then I find myself drifting off on the couch.

My guess is my body is starting to show signs of adapting to burning fat and I am hoping that 80% feeling will increase.  I do like the steady flow of it.  I actually feel more mellow and walk slower than usual.  Perhaps a reflection of my energy level tho I do recall reading that one of the perks of the keto diet was to feel less stressed and more calm.
